The winners for each award were announced in Las Vegas on June 18, 2009.

The 2009 NHL Entry Draft were held in Montreal, on June 26 and 27. John Tavares was selected first overall by the New York Islanders; Victor Hedman was selected second overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning; Matt Duchene was selected third overall by the Colorado Avalanche
