Stanley Cup

The Stanley Cup was donated in 1893 and is currently awarded to the winner of the NHL playoffs ever since 1917 when the NHL was formed. The trophy was donated by Lord Stanley of Preston, Governor General of Canada at the time.

Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy

The Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy is given to the player who displays the most perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey.

The trophy was presented by the NHL Writers Association in 1968 to honor the late Bill Masterton. Masterton died following an on-ice incident.

Calder Memorial Trophy

The Calder Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player selected as the most proficient in his first season in the NHL. The player cannot however, be older than 25 years. The player is selected by the Proffesional Hockey Writers' Association.

The Calder Trophy was given annually by Frank Calder until his death in which the trophy was called the Calder Memorial Trophy in 1944.

Conn Smythe Trophy

The Conn Smythe Trophy is presented annually at the end of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the MVP of the Post-Season. The recipient must have played in that year's Stanley Cup Final to win. It is decided by the Proffesional Hockey Writers' Association.

The award was first presented in 1964 to honor Conn Smythe.

The original Lady Byng Trophy was donated in 1925. The NHL donated the trophy after Lady Byng's death in 1949.
